We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Dialysis Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work in patient care and a passion for helping individuals with kidney disease. As a Clinical Dialysis Technician, you will play a vital role in providing dialysis treatments and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

Shift Details: (4) 10 Hour Shifts 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday. The clinic is closed most weekends and holidays depending on the needs of the clinic (training or clinical need for a patient).
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Fairlane Dialysis is a unit attached to an outpatient dialysis facility. The facility oversees peritoneal and home dialysis patients. Census is 13 PD patients and 2 HHD patients. Staffed with full-time Nephrologists. In addition, we have full-time and part time Home Nurses and home dialysis technicians. In addition, the unit has multiple support staff members that are shared with the outpatient clinic including front desk team and tech leader staff (machine maintenance) that may assist with operational duties within the clinic.
We case manage 15 pts who are monitored by connected health for Baxter and NxStage systems. Patients are trained to perform dialysis treatments at home within the clinic. PD training takes 7-10 days and HHD training takes 4-6 weeks. The home team schedules monthly clinic visits for all home patients with the interdisciplinary team and lab draws for PD patients. Our team provides pt education as well as referrals to transplant services for sites the pt requests to be referred to.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
  • Perform dialysis treatments according to prescribed protocols and physician orders.
  • Monitor patients during dialysis treatment, assessing vital signs and responding to any changes in condition.
  • Set up and operate dialysis machines, including performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by the physician.
  • Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, and self-care techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including documenting treatment activities and patient progress.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards in the dialysis unit.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a dialysis technician training program preferred.
  • Certification as a Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) required within 18-months of employment.
