Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $2,104 per week

Certification Details Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association. A Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential from the American Heart Association is recommended and may be required for specific registered nurses and travel nurse positions. Other specialty-related certifications are preferred and may be required for specific positions (i.e. NIHSS & TNCC). Job Details General Job duties: Caring of patients pre-op, phase I and phase II recovery. PACU nurses care for patients after surgery and must demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and caring for patients in Phase I. Candidates for PACU jobs require critical care skills to assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track other indicators of stability or complications. Ideal candidates for post-anesthesia care units have natural abilities to think critically. Past experience in critical care and surgical nursing is a plus. Job Requirements 2 years experience as a critical care RN (i.e.,ER & ICU) in a hospital setting may be accepted as a substitute for PACU nurse experience. Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association. A valid professional license within the state of practice. Schedule Information Shifts vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours and can be Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends/Holidays and vary between units ASU and PACU. No guarantee of hours or shift preference. On Call shift 0-3 times per month (8-hour night and 24-hour weekends/holidays). Unit Specific Information Equipment utilized in the unit/dept: Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCD's, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP Monitors, Phillips Monitors
