Energy Associate

Prominent Albany, New York law firm seeks experienced attorney with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience to join its Energy practice. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the New York and federal energy regulatory frameworks.


* Participate in proceedings before state and federal regulatory agencies
* Advise clients on complex energy regulatory issues, asset divestiture and acquisition, and other transactions
* Represent clients in matters involving utilities and before and electric system operators
* Assist clients in evaluating energy procurement options
* Engage in generation and transmission development and siting
* Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on contracts, including power purchase agreements and asset purchase and sale agreements
* Perform other relevant duties as assigned


* J.D. with 3 years relevant experience at a law firm, in government, in a corporate setting, or in another comparable regulatory environment
* Admitted to practice in New York
* Excellent writing skills
* Effective communication skills, verbal and written
* Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
