JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Group Exercise Coordinator, the Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for providing safe group exercise instruction that contributes to each member's health and fitness goals while adhering to industry guidelines established by ACSM, ACE or AFAA. The Group Exercise Instructor/Water Exercise Instructor also develops and instructs group exercise classes that are highly motivational for all fitness and skill levels.
JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or General Studies-required
Certification & Licensures:
- Appropriate certification-required and maintained.
a. Group Exercise certification: ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or NDEITA
b. Cycling Exercise certification: Mad Dogg, Fitour, or equivalent
c. Water Exercise certification: American Red Cross, A-PAI, AEA, or Arthritis Foundation
d. Yoga certification: YogaFit or equivalent
e. Pilates certification: Stott Pilates or equivalent
f. Martial arts based class certification- preferred.
g. Fitness Certification: ACE, AFAA, ACMS, NASM, ISSA, NSCA, CSCS or equivalent.
-BLS certification required within 45 days of hire.
