JOB SUMMARY
Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients of all ages, according to approved protocols, ultrasound exposure, safety, and established exam indicators. Schedules and obtains history from patients. Evaluates the appropriateness of requested exams and assist radiologists. Maintains knowledge of equipment and instruments/supplies pertinent to high quality exams. Provides effective internal and external patient communication consistent with age and mental capacity.
JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography with Abdomen (ABD) or OB/GYN registries- required
- At least one additional radiology sonographer ARDMS registries is required for performance of sonographer level II examples:
a. Abdomen
b. OB/GYN
c. Musculoskeletal Sonographer (MSKS)
d. Pediatric Sonography (PS)
e. Vascular Technology (VT)
f. Breast (BR
Certification & Licensures:
- BLS Certification
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year working experience- required
