Certification Details Certifications: BLS, NRP, advanced fetal monitoring, NCC certified inpatient OB (RNC-OB) Will accept a C-EFM in place of ADV FHM Job Details A hospital in California is looking for an experienced L&D RN with Antepartum/Post Partum/Couplet care experience for a travel assignment. The right candidate will have 2 years of experience. Job Requirements Hold an active BLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and CA license. Schedule Information Shifts: 12 hrs, 7-7 Self-scheduling to some degree, manager has to balance out and make sure shifts are covered Schedules are made out 30-45 days in advance Candidates can take call if they want Unit Specific Information beds: 10 beds Ratios: L&D is usually 1 to 1-2, follow AWHONN guidelines, postpartum is 1 to 4 couplet care EMR: Cerner, Fetal heart monitor is fetal link Charge Nurse: yes, they will take a pt assignment Nurse Aides: no Weekend Requirement: every other Holidays: work into perm staff rotation Scrub Color: navy Tele: phillips Vents: no Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: no neonatologist, hospitalist has to be available 24/7, 4 OB/GYNs and 2 midwives IV Team: no RT 24/7: yes Pharmacy 24/7: no, only in house for 10 hours of the day Floating: float to medsurg or CCU rarely & only if desired. Will have to work both L&D & PP on unit Floor specific orientation: 2-3 days Additional Details ACLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Unit: L&D, Well-Baby Nursery, Postpartum combined to form one unit Common diagnosis/Types of patients: on PP side they may occasionally get a post-op gyn surgery, also will see high risk deliveries, 35 weeks and above, drug babies that go through withdrawal protocol, twin deliveries Additional Notes: must be comfortable running and managing delivery on own, must be teamwork oriented, candidates MUST have postpartum and L&D experience, they will not have to scrub in for c-sections, OR will cover this, they do about 30-40 deliveries per month
