Certification Details ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS certification required Prior to acceptance, the Dysrhythmia Exam (Basic) through UNA is required to be sent along with acceptance. This must be completed within 24-48 hrs. A screenshot showing the number of attempts is also required. You’ll need to set your traveler up for this exam immediately. Job Details A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced ER nurses for a travel contract. The right candidate will have 2 years of experience. Job Requirements Must have 2 years of experience Hold an active BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH and CA License Schedule Information 12 hr shifts. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available. Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves "available" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff. Block scheduling is generally not available. Every other weekend Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed Unit Specific Information Unit: ED bed: 14 bed with 4 fast track included. No triage for agency RNs BHU (Behavioral Health Unit: Tandy Burton) mental health nurses see the mental health patients Certs: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Ratios: 1:4 EMR: Cerner Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief. Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates Scrubs Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy. Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. Vents: Not common Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes IV Team: No RT 24/7: Yes Pharmacy 24/7: Yes Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen. Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor. Common diagnosis / Types of patients: CP r/o MI, exacerbation of chronic diseases, psych holds. All major cases transported to San Juan or Mercy General. Additional Notes: General community hospital ER patients.;12hr Nights, EOW, First to Float Additional Details Modules are required to be done before start of assignment. Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable to the hospital. For Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). Unit managers will make the final call on scheduling.
