Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $1,996 per week

Certification Details Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS. Preferred certifications: NRP, TNCC. Job Details ER RN Travelers will triage patients. Do not have separate triage area, ER holds- intermixed, transfer out most critical patients to higher level of care. No separate Psych/seclusion rooms. Local police will respond; will also arrive with any known mental health or behavioral patients. On average, 8-25 patients per day in the ER. Nurse:Patient Ratios adjust based on patient acuity and influx. Common diagnoses: diverse patient population, various medical needs, acute illnesses, severe injuries, resp. distress, neurological disorders, traumas. Experience or 'Must have' skills: RNs to mix their own medications, assist with respiratory meds/equipment/intubation, 2 years of experience, prior travel experience preferred. ED Physician &/or Mid-Levels staffed 24/7. Charge nurse is present each shift to assist with traumas, critical patients. Full time tech and float CNA available. RT available by call 24/7, in-house 6a-6p. Full Radiology department: X-ray, CT, MRI, Nuc Med, Ultrasound. Lab staff assist with blood draws if available. Job Requirements ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS required. NRP, TNCC preferred certifications. RNs must read and interpret their own strips. Schedule Information Shifts: 7a, 7p, 7p-7a - rotating days/nights. 2 out of 6 weekend requirement. Holiday requirements: consideration for RTO if given ahead of time. No call, OT opportunity available. 2-day unit/department specific orientation. Unit Specific Information Staffing levels may adjust dynamically based on patient acuity. Common areas ER staff might float to: Medical Surgical unit. Support for behavioral patients 1:1 may be needed. Additional Details Fast paced environment.
