Job Description: The Safety Manager will manage, plan, facilitate, and advise hospital leadership on issues relating to Environment of Care, Emergency Management, and Security. The Safety Manager will help ensure compliance with requirements of the following: The Joint Commission (TJC) Environment of Care (EC) and Emergency Management (EM), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazard Communication standard and injury investigation and reduction efforts, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Code and related standards (life safety education, fire drills, and compliance assistance and documentation review), and local and state fire authorities.The Safety Manager will also serve as the on-site security contact and facility contract liaison with the security vendor(s). Qualifications: In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: Required: Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Science, or related discipline 5 years of experience in a safety-related role within a healthcare organization, including comprehending, interpreting, and implementing procedures and programs in compliance with hospital guidelines and healthcare regulatory agencies. Current working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required. Preferred: A current working knowledge of The Joint Commission or other similar agencies, Centers for Medicare/Medicaid, NFPA, and/or OSHA standards and regulations is preferred.

Employee management experience is preferred.
