The Team Lead Cath Lab RN will counsel, direct, and evaluate the performance of Cath Lab staff members to ensure the consistent delivery of safe, appropriate, high-quality nursing care, ensure efficient patient flow and collaborate with medical providers to ensure and maintain the overall quality of each patient's care.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages Cath Lab
  • Assists nurses in providing care to patients.
  • Evaluates overall staff performance, providing corrective measures as needed.
  • Communicates regularly with the Director of Nursing regarding nurse performance, staff dynamics and changes in treatment protocols.
  • Prepares staff schedules and assigns available staff to patients.
  • Anticipates the need for staffing alterations for each upcoming 24-hour period and coordinates solutions to solve for any identified gaps; personally provides coverage when the required nursing staff members are absent or cannot be secured.
  • Safely and independently administers prescribed treatments, medications, and nursing interventions based on patient assessments and plans of care.
  • Remains calm under pressure; quickly and effectively delegates staff responsibilities during busy shifts and emergency situations.
  • Ensures that an adequate inventory of proper medical supplies is always available.
  • Independently evaluates and monitors both the effectiveness of interventions and the progress toward desired patient outcomes.
  • Serves as a coach and mentor for nurses.
  • Demonstrates leadership at clinical point of care.
  • Logs care statistics into a healthcare database.
  • Actively promotes an environment conducive to positive professional practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient and staff safety.
  • Applies conflict resolution and negotiation skills to solve disagreements between staff members and maximize team performance.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience in surgery nursing.
  • Knowledge of nursing staff methods, retention, recruitment and finance.
  • Proven ability to maintain professional conduct and confidentiality in the care of patients.
  • Previous experience using healthcare data software.
  • Demonstration of basic computer skills.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work weekends, weeknights and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience as a Charge Nurse or equivalent leadership in surgery
  • Previous experience working in an outpatient surgical center.
  • Bachelor's Degree of Nursing (BSN).
  • Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification.
  • Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) certification.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft Office and in-depth knowledge of healthcare data software.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Membership in one or more additional professional organizations relating to the field of nursing.
