As an integral member of the patch and release services operations and maintenance team, the Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM) Systems Administrator will be responsible for deployment, management, and troubleshooting of programs, applications, updates, and security patches throughout the enterprise of Windows desktops, laptops, and tablets. Additionally, the MECM Systems Administrator will provide Tier II/III support to end users through the effective use and management of the enterprise ticket management system to provide expedient resolution to trouble tickets, service requests, break fixes, and change requests. This team member will integrate both vendor supplied applications and custom developed applications into the managed desktop environment while adhering to established change management policies and observing SOPs to ensure good and sound IT practices during the building/testing/deployment/analysis of software packages in the environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform Tier II/III troubleshooting of issues pertaining to client workstation systems.

  • Fulfill end user requests for ad-hoc reporting and information regarding client workstation systems.

  • Fulfill end user and change requests for operational engineering assignments pertaining to software, deployments, security updates, and overall configuration of client workstation systems.

  • Provide operations and maintenance support of Microsoft Configuration Manager infrastructure, patching, and updates to include troubleshooting issues when they arise.

  • Maintain technical support documents and provide recommendations to improve upon current processes where necessary.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a high level government public trust clearance required.

  • 3-5 years of experience providing IT administration and/or engineering services.

  • Relevant Certifications in either A+, Security+/Network+, OS, Azure, Intune, MECM and/or M365 Desktop Administrator Associate are desired.

  • Experience utilizing and maintaining enterprise management systems such as Microsoft Configuration Manager, Active Directory, MS Entra ID is (preferred

  • Experience performing troubleshooting for technicians and/or end users utilizing Service Now ticketing system is (preferred).

  • Solid understanding of Windows operating systems.

  • Experience with administering Active Directory, particularly with implementing/troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and Group Policy Preferences (GPPs).

  • Exposure to Cloud Endpoint Management (MS Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, etc.)

  • Exposure Applications (M365 Apps, Adobe Creative Cloud, Beyond Trust, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Configuration Manager Task Sequences (or similar product) for the purposes of performing Operating System Deployments (OSD) or building deployments requiring multiple steps.

  • Ability to troubleshoot application installations and end user issues pertaining to usage of various desktop applications (Edge, Google Chrome, Java, Corretto, Adobe, etc.).

  • Understanding of Windows Installer technology to configure applications for silent or unattended deployments.

  • Exposure to scripting/programming languages (preferably DOS, VBScript, PowerShell, MS Graph API or SQL) to automate processes.

  • Excellent process-oriented skills with regards to configuration management and troubleshooting within a complex enterprise environment.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data sets to determine trends, establish strategies, and make decisions.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across diverse audiences and influence cross functionally.

  • Ability to multi-task as well as be strategic, creative, and innovative in a dynamic, fast-paced matrix team environment.
