Job Summary:
At Bartlett, we provide on the job training to become a Surgical Technician. The program runs for approximately 12 months and will prepare you to assist our surgeons in a variety of fields including: Orthopedic, Gynecology, Urology, Dental, ENT, General Surgery, Trauma, and Endoscopy. We will invest in you becoming a crucial member of our team!
The Surgical Technician Trainee positions are entry-level and work under close supervision performing routine duties in a highly structured environment. Incumbents perform routine duties with a focus on meeting practical competencies and learning Bartlett procedures, policies, and equipment.
Receives training and orientation from a Surgical Technician II or other qualified personnel.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:

  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Certification(s): Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Career Ladder Requirements: Incumbents are eligible to advance to the journey level once they complete their competency training plan, meet the experience requirement, and successfully demonstrate the following competencies:
    • Complete one year at the Trainee level.
    • Demonstrates competency with situational awareness preoperatively and intraoperatively.
    • Ability to apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology; microbiology, pharmacology, and other related medical terminology.
  • Note: The incumbent is required to advance to the Surgical Technician level in order to maintain employment.
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
