Position Details: We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the General Surgery team at Backus Hospital. The role involves being an essential part of the multidisciplinary team that plans and delivers care for a wide variety of surgical patients. The candidate will be involved in managing surgical inpatients, admissions, consultations, operative first-assist, and bedside procedures.

Location: 326 Washington Street, Norwich, 06360
Setting: Inpatient, general surgery
Schedule: Full-time, three 12-13 hour shifts/week, rotating
Call schedule: No call
Role Scope: Under established guidelines, the candidate will perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients. They will also develop plans for further evaluation of health needs and provide appropriate treatment for problems within their scope of practice as designated by protocols.
