Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Foster strong customer relationships in a team-based selling model.
  • Manage deliveries according to the transportation department's schedule and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the order process.
  • Communicate with customers and collect accounts receivable as necessary.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through market intelligence databases, networking, and attending industry events.
  • Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products and prices.
  • Drive to customers and prospects to ensure product delivery.

Supervision:

No direct reports.

Relationships

  • Internal: District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact.
  • External: Customers, vendors, prospective customers.

Work Environment

Frequently outside the office environment working in the field visiting customers in variable weather and temperature conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
  • Experience in the foodservice industry, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and develop new business through cold calling.
  • Exceptional customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience using Customer Relationship Management tools preferred.

Education

HS Diploma or equivalent.

Licenses

Valid driver's license required.

Must be able to perform various physical activities, including standing, walking, driving, lifting, and carrying objects.
