The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading and building a strong financial team who can motivate others to perform at their full potential. They will provide training and information to team members. They will also complete more complex special projects and assignments. The Accounting Manager will review internal accounting processes and procedures.

Starting salary $70,000 per year (or more based on experience).

Job Duties Include:
• Problem solves property financial reporting errors and discrepancies to determine root causes and identify solutions.
• Perform more complex accounting assignments requiring additional knowledge and experience. Examples include accounting for more complex residential or commercial properties or payroll accounting.
• Hire, train, develop, and lead team members to perform at their best with a focus on transforming the lives of those we serve.
• Serve as a support to the field positions as a resource for complex resident questions and concerns.
• Strong understanding and experience in managing and analyzing financial statements and budgets.
• Participate in the final review of property financials before submitting to owner-clients.
• Assist the Accounting Directors in the development and implementation of effective annual property budgeting processes.
• Perform more complex accounting assignments requiring additional knowledge and experience. Examples include accounting for more complex residential or commercial properties or payroll accounting
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area and volume.
• Demonstrates knowledge and application of accounting principles, including Goldmark accounting practices, cash flow, and accrual accounting.
• Meeting of deadlines for financial reporting.
Experience and Education:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Four-year bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA strongly preferred.
• Three or more years experience in an accounting role with a CPA firm or accounting department with multiple customers or divisions.
• Prior People Leadership and Management experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including SharePoint, Word, Outlook and Excel is preferred.
• Familiar with federal, state, and jurisdictional laws and regulations concerning multi-family housing, Fair Housing, and team member safety.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, manage time, as well as possess an orientation toward details.
• A motivated, well-organized, and self-directed individual who is also able to motivate and guide others.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
