Job Description
The Telehealth Medical Assistant Coordinator will work closely with the school nurse to ensure the highest level of patient care utilizing a telehealth platform. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Be a contact for school nurses to contact when sick visit is needed.
  • Be the contact personal for other offsite locations offering CSC telehealth services
  • Provide patient education, patient support, and patient care via a telehealth platform as an extension of the physician practice
  • Provides the documentation of the following at every visit: vital signs (including the presence and degree of pain) allergies, a review of the patient's medication, and other screenings as required by CSC nursing procedures.
  • Checks, reads, and responds to emails and TEAMs notifications daily and promptly.
  • Reads and signs off documents and completes mandatory training in PowerDMS and Relias on time
  • Serve as a liaison and coordinate information between providers, other clinical staff, patients and school personnel
  • Coordinate the ongoing delivery and management of patient centered comprehensive care plans
  • Performs administrative and clinical reporting duties- to include but not limited to weekly telehealth chart audits, performing prior authorizations for offsite service locations, and other telehealth tracking reports.
  • Prepare weekly schedule of visit to be completed.
  • Complete and initiate appropriate clinical reminders, consults, and alerts
  • Utilize EHR to document all clinical observations, information, updates, and patient education
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate virtual patient encounters
  • Demonstrate an ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles
  • Creates a positive impression of the organization by demonstrating courtesy and professionalism when greeting patients and associates.
  • Explains the telehealth assessment process to new patients with enthusiasm and warmth.
  • Sets up telehealth equipment and operates technology proficiently so as to reduce disruptions during telehealth assessments.
  • Receives instruction from the provider and communicates verbally and/or in writing to other relevant clinical staff to facilitate the scheduling of follow up appointments, signing of proper consents and meeting the patient's needs.
  • As a member of a care team, support the mission and goal achievement, organizational quality and patient centered care.
  • Openly, clearly and respectfully share and receive information, opinions and concerns and feedback in a supportive manner.
  • Compiles and types reports as requested. Keeps department files up to date.
  • Answers and routes phone calls; take messages and handles phone calls promptly and courteously.
  • Other duties as assigned by Virtual Care Manager
Skills/Education and Experience
  • High school diploma required
  • Must be a registered or certified medical assistant
  • 1 year of previous clinical office experience STRONGLY preferred
  • Working knowledge Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience performing and compiling reports
  • Previous experience in performing/completing prior authorizations
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight
  • Previous experience with telehealth preferred
  • Must be a team player able to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Must be detail oriented and adept at record keeping
  • Must be trained in CPR/BLS
  • Exemplary attendance record required
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence is a must as well as the ability to speak effectively before individuals and groups.
  • Ability to work independently and handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Hours
Monday through Friday 7:30-4:00. During school breaks and closures MA may float to other CareSouth locations as determined by the manager.
Location
Base location: ROADS Office in Society Hill but will travel to various schools in our service area when serving as a tele-presenter.
$2,500 Sign - On Bonus Available
