State and Local Tax Accountant

We are seeking a skilled Sales and Local Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, financial concepts, and general ledger accounting. Responsibilities:
* Complete state and local property tax returns
* Complete state and local sales, use and commercial rental tax returns
* Prepare state and local occupation, privilage and varying business licenses
* Conduct research and plan according to applicable tax laws and regulations
* Minimize tax liability through sound and informed application of laws and regulations
* Analyze financial information to ensure tax returns are filed properly
* Accrue and budget property taxe expense
* Reconcile related general ledger accounts
* Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial services support

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* Proven experience working in tax accounting
* Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles
* Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
* CPA certification is a plus but not required



Work Remotely
* Hybrid schedule including a couple of days in the Laurel office each week

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
