We are looking for a highly motivated Staff IAM Engineer to join our team at an exciting time. Our company is committed to building innovative technologies and future-proofing our business to stay ahead in the ever-changing digital landscape. We are seeking a passionate individual who is excited about working on cutting-edge identity platforms such as Entra External Identities (Azure B2C) and AWS Cognito. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills, a deep understanding of software development life cycle methodologies, and a keen eye for detail.

Outcomes and Activities:

The position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
Design and develop solutions for Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Platforms such as Entra External Identities (Azure B2C) and AWS Cognito
Integrate applications with SAML, OpenID Connect, RADIUS and OAuth.
Integrate applications with Multi Factor Authentication
Integrate applications with Password less Authentication
Evolve and transform the design and architecture of applications towards leading edge technologies and practices
Conduct impact analysis to proactively identify impact of a change across multiple applications/platforms
Learn the business process domain to better support the business and align technologies with the business process
Experiment and test ideas, validate assumptions against needs, reach conclusions and recommend solutions
Document code and projects so others can easily understand, maintain and support
Debug the problems which arise in production and propose effective solutions within the application and across multiple applications
Read, write and review design documents
Contribute to team's sprint commitments and actively participate in our Agile practices, including recommendations for process improvement
Lead continuous learning activities to improve design and code quality as well as to increase application domain knowledge
Participate in the talent selection process
Act as a mentor to guide and review the code, designs and documentation of less experienced IAM engineers

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field of study; or equivalent work experience
Minimum 8 years of software engineering, identity and federation experience or comparable depth of experience
Experience with CIAM tools such as Azure Active Director B2C or Amazon Cognito
Experience in the lead role overseeing technical direction of a team of identity and access talent
Strong understanding and use of one or more object-oriented programming languages and design patterns
Practical experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including Agile/SCRUM and Waterfall
Practical experience in data modeling, design and messaging
Experience working on mission-critical enterprise class applications
Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor less experienced team members
Strong experience with Directories, SSO, Federation, Delegated administration, API gateways, SOA services
Experience with network architecture.
Experience with PowerShell, Java and .NET scripting
An understanding of Zero Trust concepts
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

Preferred:

Knowledge of open authentication & authorization standards (SAML2.0, OAuth 2.0 and OIDC)
3+ years of hands-on experience in the design, implementation, and support of Customer Identity & Access Management platforms
In-depth usage and creation of application programming interfaces (API) and frameworks in their particular field: JSON, Rest/SOAP based Web Services, and PowerShell
Experience in API security, analytics, throttling, caching, logging, request and response modifications
Financial services industry experience

Ability to foster strong relationships across the organization
Bring a strong understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, provide input and coach team members and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day
Experience and understanding of how to connect the work being done and how it drives business value
Ability to communicate complex technical information (both verbal and written) to all levels, including senior leadership

Targeted Total Compensation: $187,000 - $313,750. Total compensation is comprised of a competitive base salary, equity, and an annual variable compensation package.
