Sr. Product Manager

NSI Industries is currently seeking an experienced Sr.  Product Manager  that will be responsible for the strategic development and management of the Network Infrastructure business unit of NSI Industries. This role is responsible for the overall success of the P&L for each respective category and gives focus, urgency, and sharpness to the market presence of the product lines. 

The Sr. Product Manager will have direct responsibility over product line priorities and be responsible for understanding market segmentation and providing strategic direction. This individual will manage a team of product managers and other roles to complete the objectives. This person will also work cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing to drive effective launch strategies and penetration to the market. This individual will work closely with other functional disciplines (engineering, finance, operations, and technical services) to define new products needed for capturing market share and consumer awareness. 

Responsibilities will include: 
  • Lead strategic product planning and provide marketing recommendations through effective use of product development roadmaps and competitive analysis
  • Identify key market segments and verticals for additional revenue opportunities and market share gain
  • Gather VOC intelligence as it relates to current and potential product offerings
  • Lead annual pricing strategy through understanding of market acceptance and competitive landscape
  • Oversee/review existing product category inventory as it relates to turns and forecast to sales ratios
  • Support sales and operations planning through accurate forecasting based on organic, incremental, and new product growth
  • Conduct market research to drive towards a solutions based, consumer goods and electrician friendly organization
  • Conduct competitive analysis to determine emerging trends in the marketplace and feature/gap analysis
  • Support and drive new product development (NPD) activities through marketing scopes, costing, price positioning, channels of distribution, and go to market strategy recommendations
  • Assists in packaging and technical document development and review cycles
  • Demonstrated success in driving change, achieving business results, and developing & continually improving standards of performance
  • Lead technical training and capacity-building as needed through NSi marketing programs.
  • Creates and/or collaborates on product content for training sessions with internal and external customers.
  • Actively participate in seminars, professional organization meetings, and trade shows, as required
  • Exhibit positive energy and contribute as a change agent to the organization
  • Strong quantitative skills with an emphasis on business and financial acumen
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proficient in operating Windows, CRM and BI programs as well as associated Microsoft Office applications, including: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
     
Basic Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, or General Business
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive product management, sales, or engineering experience from a consumer and electrician led electronic goods manufacturing organization
  • Product and application knowledge in Low Voltage Data Center or Broadband highly preferred
  • Knowledge of basic financial statements and P&L ownership
  • Ability to travel domestically 25% of the time
     
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
  • Field sales experience with low voltage distribution, contractors and specifying engineers
  • Competitor, product and application knowledge of fiber optic and copper communications systems.
