Job Description:
Role Summary:
This person will be performing infotainment system end-to-end testing and analysis. They will be part of a team testing the current and next generations of connected infotainment systems.
Testing will consist of static bench and dynamic road tests as well as all documentation, failure analysis and tracking with the suppliers and responsible colleagues in Wolfsburg, Germany.Ensuring that the test equipment is prepared to the correct version levels is also a requirement of this position.
An ideal candidate will have some prior experience with connected infotainment, online system bring-up, and end-to-end functional validation from vehicle and backend perspective.
Role Responsibilities:
Test Execution and Reporting - (50%)
  • Executes testing activities on connected infotainment systems including telematics and infotainment units.
  • Reports and communicates results and critical issues to key project partners
Functional Error Resolution - (20%)
  • Provides documentation (failure report, CAN trace) on infotainment communication errors found during static and dynamic evaluation, follows up directly with responsible engineers for resolution
Online Bring-Up and Configuration - (20%)
  • Support Online bring-up of vehicles and benches
  • Ensure the test benches and vehicles are at the correct version levels
  • Define and implement changes with the team as required
Qualifications:
Years of Experience:
  • 3-5 years of related engineering experience
Education - Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
Education - Desired:
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Skills:
  • SW Architecture and Function Design and Development
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking - using logic and reason, creative and strategic
  • Communication skills - interpersonal, presentation and written
  • Integration - joining people, processes or systems
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Resource management
  • German skills written and verbal are advantageous
Specialized Skills - Required:
  • Experience with automotive infotainment control modules
  • Experience testing infotainment technology and the interaction with in-vehicle systems
  • Understanding of vehicle communication networks and the ability to capture communication traces
Specialized Skills - Desired:
  • Experience with automotive infotainment control module root cause analysis
  • Experience testing/releasing full vehicle electrical systems (module and functional testing)
  • Experience with Volkswagen infotainment control modules
  • Ability to trouble-shoot communication breakdowns within the network by analyzing the network communication
Work Flexibility:
  • Travel to suppliers and the R&D departments in Germany
