Guaranteed Hours: 40

Compensation Details:
Pay Rate: $85/hr (Rate Splits below as per GSA)
Straight Time Rate(Taxable): $55/hr;
Stipend (Non-Taxable): $30/hr

Overtime Rate (Starts after 40 hours):$95/hr
Holiday Rate: $95/hr

Assignment Completion Bonus: $500
Airfare/Mileage reimbursement (One time to reach the facility)

Job Description:
GENERAL OBJECTIVES:


  1. As a member of the radiation oncology team, the dosimetrist has the knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation treatment machines and equipment and is cognizant of procedures commonly used in brachytherapy.
  2. Generates radiation dose distributions and dose calculations based on education and expertise in collaboration with the Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist.
QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Dosimetry program, or Certified as a Medical Dosimetrist
  • Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
  • Complies with existing national and state laws and institutional policies related to qualifications required to practice medical dosimetry in Colorado.
Skills:

  • Must be able to understand the technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics to derive computerized treatment plans and communicate these aspects to the Radiation Oncologist for plan revision and approval and to the Radiation Therapist for plan implementation.
  • Treatment planning systems used are:

  • Mosaiq EMR

  • MIM for fusions, highly desired

  • Varian TrueBeam linac

  • Oncentra HDR

Varian Eclipse v15

  • Performs routine duties independent of supervision but consults with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required.
  • Operates and performs quality assurance on the treatment planning computer under the direction of the Medical Physicist
  • Has working knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations pertaining to radiation therapy.
  • Has the ability to interpret and execute treatment plans as defined in relevant treatment protocols.
  • Must possess mathematical skills and knowledge including algebra, trigonometry, geometry and introductory calculus and be able to visualize objects in three-dimensional concepts to facilitate the treatment planning process.
Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in related field.
