PRN Histologist needed in our Lab.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

  1. Performs histological procedures to prepare surgical specimens for diagnostic pathology.
  2. Utilizes resources and techniques effectively according to established policies and procedures.
  3. Maintains skill and knowledge to promote the Histology Department’s services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Graduate of a one-year accredited histology program.
  • Certificate in Histology.
  • ASCP registered or eligible for certification.

Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience in histology.
  • Knowledgeable regarding all aspects of the histology department.
  • Knowledgeable regarding surgical and autopsy pathology
  • Knowledgeable regarding the identification and embedding of all tissue specimens.
  • Knowledgeable regarding the cutting and mounting of tissue specimens.
  • Knowledgeable in H & E staining and coverslipping of all tissue specimens.
  • Knowledgeable in the preparation of frozen sections.
  • Knowledgeable in the performance of special histochemical procedures.
  • Have basic computer skills.

SALARY RANGE:

  • $29.05 to $42.73/hour +14% PRN Differential Pay.
  • Entry salary dependent upon education, skill set, and experience.
