Job Title: Sr/HR Business Partner

Reports To: CHRO

Status: Exempt - Salaried


General Description:

Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery has an exciting HR Business Partner position available at our Menomonie location. This is a key member of the human resources team and works collaboratively with plant leadership to provide Human Resources support. This key role provides consultative guidance and coaching to managers and employees on human resources-related matters, ensuring alignment with company policies, goals, and objectives.


Duties and Responsibilities

· Act as key business partner focused on establishing, maintaining, and developing an environment to promote positive employee relations and successful business practices.

· Act as an employee champion to maintain staff morale, communication, and cooperation across the company.

· Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.

· Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.

· Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management.

· Coach and counsel leaders providing tools and guidance that enable management effectiveness.

· Support business unit managers and employees with understanding and implementing HR policies.

· Manages the end-to-end recruitment, posting positions, selection and onboarding of employees at assigned site in collaboration with site leadership.

· General HR duties will include; coordination of benefits enrollment for new hires and for annual enrollment; management of FMLA/leaves of absence; recording and reporting work related injuries and helping with incident investigation; conducting pre-employment and for reasonable suspicion drug/alcohol testing; assisting with coordination and annual safety and GMP training.

· Manage and keep up to date HR files and associated compliance documents.

· Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.

· Identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.

· Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement.

· Make recommendations for improvement of the employee handbook, employment policies, procedures, and personnel practices.

· Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with HR Director for support as needed/required.

· Manage the performance management program for the assigned business unit.

· Conduct special projects at assigned location such as HR internal audits, as requested.

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Required (Basic) Education / Experience/ Competencies and Other Skills:

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field

· 2-4 years of HR Business Partner experience or similar experience preferred.

· Must be “hands-on,”; able to hit the ground running and be proactive and visible within the location.

· Must be an outstanding leader, able to cultivate relationships, build trust and provide timely execution and sense of urgency.

· HRIS or payroll experience/familiarity

· PHR or SPHR certification preferred


Physical Demands:

· Ability to operate normal office equipment

· Must hold a valid Driver’s License

· Extensive use of Computers and software

· Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen as well as a general background check.


Work Environment / Environment Condition:

Dairy Plant/office work environment.

Working hours will vary depending on need but generally will be M-F, 8am-4pm.
