About This Role:

World Group is currently looking for a detail oriented person to join our family as a Senior Accountant for our growing corporate headquarters in Rocky River, Ohio!

The Sr. Accountant is responsible for playing a lead role in the accounting department and assisting the Accounting Manager in managing different aspects of the financial reporting and month-end close process as well as developing members of the accounting team. This position will also work closely with the Accounting Manager and the rest of the accounting department to ensure the financial data is accurate and is communicated effectively to the leadership team. Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage multiple miscellaneous tax filing requirements in various jurisdictions/divisions
Play a lead role in preparing monthly financial statements
Prepare and record journal entries for accurate financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (U.S. GAAP)
Maintain detailed reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Prepare documentation and complete requests for auditors
Provide monthly analysis reports for management and the leadership team
Implement appropriate processes to provide sound financial controls
Maintain fixed asset and lease records for the Company’s various divisions
Prepare credit applications for new and existing vendors
Participate in various ad hoc finance and accounting related projects

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
CPA license preferred
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in public accounting or industry, including tax experience
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts
Problem solving and research skills
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt
Ability to learn multiple computer systems including, but not limited to: Sage MAS 500, CargoWise, Synapse, Trinium, Depot Systems, McLeod, DocStar, and BI360
Strong typing and computer skills especially in Microsoft Excel and the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite
