The successful candidate will have well-developed competencies in the assessment and treatment of all aspects of care, including:

  • Professional voice
  • Structural/ organic changes
  • Neurogenic disorders
  • Gender/identity-affirming voice care
  • Upper airway disorders, including exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction, irritable larynx syndrome, and subglottic stenosis
  • Regular interaction with patients who have a wide variety of dysphagia diagnoses
As a member of the multidisciplinary outpatient team, this SLP will have experience performing the following skills relevant to patients with specific problems:
  • Comprehensive clinical assessment and interviewing
  • Physical examination including flexible laryngeal stroboscopy and Fiber optic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) - Willing to train strong candidate.
  • Instrumental assessment of voice and upper airway disorder, including acoustic measurement of voice
  • Individualized treatment planning for voice and respiratory retraining therapy
  • Perioperative care of the singing and speaking voice, and upper-airway issues.
  • Skilled and culturally responsive care for a wide variety of patients, their families, and other care givers.
