JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the evaluation of patients referred for Speech therapy, formulation of a plan of care, and administration of Speech therapy treatments. The staff Speech therapist shall interact with all hospital departments and medical staff. Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in all areas involving patients and their related hospital business. Conduct hospital business in an ethical and lawful manner, and is willing to report any knowledge of real or potential fraud or abuse according to the NIH Compliance Code of Conduct. Abide by the NIH Personnel, Payroll Policies and Procedures. Abide by Departmental Policies and Procedures, and standards of performance and conduct.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

*Directly responsible to the Rehabilitation Director.

*Works closely with hospital district leadership and departments as well as internal and external customers.

Qualifications:


Required:

*Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology and holding a current Speech Pathologist license in the State of California.


Preferred:

*Pediatric Experience

*Bilingual in Spanish is preferred

Speech Language II, III

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology and holding a current Speech Therapy license in the State of California, as well as the Certificate of Clinical Competence for Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). .
  • Must have obtained the level of education required for licensure at the time of original licensing.
  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as a licensed Speech Therapist.
  • BLS within 2 month of hire and on-going
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to instruct/comfort patients/families; to maintain effective communication/contact with healthcare team members
  • Analytical skills necessary in order to prioritize workload develop solutions to problems concerning patient’s body, mind, and spirit
  • Basic computer knowledge including: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Intranet
  • Ability to learn Computer software programs including, but not limited to: Cerner Millennium, Policy Manager, OneSource, HPF, One Content, etc.
  • Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English

Preferred :

  • Other professional related experience
  • A Doctorate Degree is preferred in Speech Language Pathology, or other related field.
  • ASHA approved advanced certifications in the speech therapy field.



mostly weekends, Monday - Friday vacation coverage.
