Our team is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join our growing Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery practice. The person in this position is part of the team concept in The Woodruff Institute’s health delivery system, which is devoted to the delivery of the highest quality dermatologic and aesthetic care in an outpatient clinical setting, with emphasis on personalized, quality care in an elegant environment.
The Biller / Claims Coordinator is responsible for claims processing, from charge entry to collections. Primary responsibilities include correct coding, payment entry, refunds, appeals, collection, claims investigation, insurance verification, and revenue report analysis.

  • Provide accurate and timely filing of all patient charges
  • Review each claim for accuracy, eliminating delays and rejections
  • Follow up on all outstanding claims and patient balances
  • Follow up on any insurance overpayments and medical records requests in a timely manner
  • Post payments and manage AR efficiently
  • Review physician’s notes for diagnostic and CPT coding
  • Manage patient demographics and insurance information to ensure accuracy
  • Communicate and review accounts with management
  • Maintain strong knowledge of relevant CPT and diagnostic coding
  • Aid in making phone calls to collect patient balance’s
  • Answering incoming calls in a professional manner regarding any account-related questions or concerns
  • Display strong communication skills with clients, insurance carriers, and patients both in person and over the phone

Work environment
Busy yet quiet billing office. This is a primarily sedentary position, requiring long periods of sitting, focusing and looking at a computer monitor.
Physical demands
This position requires long periods of sitting and looking directly at an active computer monitor.
Required education and experience
  • A High School diploma or GED required
Preferred Education and experience
  • One-three years as a Medical Biller
  • Experience with Medical Billing software
Additional eligibility requirements
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide the necessary documents of identification and authorization.
