School Description:
School Assignment will be based on the need for an additional nursing staff based on the current student population and their healthcare needs.
Brief Job Duties:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
1. Provides health assessment conducts vision, hearing, scoliosis, and other tests as may be required by the state.
2. Provides ongoing health records and information and interprets and initiates health referrals to pupils, parents, school personnel, and health agencies to meet individual student needs.
3. Coordinates all health-related 504 plans for students at assigned schools.
4. Provide the administration of medication according to Biddeford School Department policy JLCD.
5. Promotes and assists in the control of communicable diseases through preventative immunization programs and monitoring and reporting of contagious diseases as required.
6. Provide statistical reports and information to the superintendent, DOE, DHHS, and CDC, as may be required.
7. Renders first aid to students and, if appropriate, to school employees.

Certification/License:
Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
Eligible for 524 School Nurse Maine Department of Education certification.
Current R.N. license in Maine.
