Spanish Teacher (**)

Abbeville County School District has openings for Spanish Teachers (grades 9 to 12) whose responsibilities will include the following: • Provide Spanish language education to students individually and in groups. • Use various teaching methods such as lectures, discussion, and demonstrations. • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these to students. • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ various needs and interests. • Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students. • Prepare class materials and classrooms for class activities. • Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. • Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators to aid students in academic and personal progress and to resolve students’ behavioral and academic problems. • Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students’ progress. • Assign and grade class work and homework. • Perform other duties as assigned by administration or as customary for teachers. #LI_DNI 2 years of experience as a Spanish Teacher in a K-12 setting or in any occupation in which the experience was gained, plus demonstrated experience in: native-level fluency in written and spoken Spanish. Must have a valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate from the South Carolina Department of Education. Proof of passage of the World Language PRAXIS Exam for Spanish.
