Westinghouse Parts Business seeks a
Principal Engineer
in Electrical for our New Stanton facility to support the Westinghouse Parts Business (WPB). The New Stanton site works on projects to bolster plant safety and reliability by providing the electrical, instrumentation and control (I&C), and mechanical products and services that our customers require. This position is within the Non-OEM Products Group and is responsible to support design, manufacture, testing, and delivery of high-quality non-Westinghouse products.
This opportunity is elgible for a Remote working arrangement (within the United States).
Your Day to Day:
Preparation and review of drawings, specifications, and purchase requisitions for various Electrical Products
Work effectively as part of a cross-functional team including quality engineering, supply chain management, marketing, customer service, and the supplier base
Provide technical input during the proposal process
Development and/or maintenance of Material Master Data and Parts Baselines in SAP
Determination of critical equipment characteristics to support equipment qualification and commercial grade dedication
Assist in the development of equipment qualification test procedures, support during testing, evaluate test results and preparation and peer review of final reports
Preparation and review/approval of Commercial Dedication Instructions
Development of Engineered solutions to address obsolescence issues for various products
Provide engineering support to customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and shop operations for a variety of products
Training and coaching other engineers within the electrical and mechanical value streams
Who You Are:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
10 years relevant engineering experience
Proven knowledge and experience with various types of electro-mechanical and electrical equipment utilized in nuclear power plants. Such as, electrical distribution systems and equipment, Low/Medium voltage switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, motors, motor-generator sets, HVAC equipment, and motor control centers, is preferred.
Previous experience in the nuclear industry, specifically in nuclear power plant safety / non-safety systems with working knowledge of 10CFR50 Appendix B, NQA-1, and 10CFR part 21 requirements, is required.
A proven track record of effective written and verbal communication skills, including positive customer interaction skills required.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Experience with writing technical requirements for the procurement of equipment and developing the input for these specifications is required
