Seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with extensive heavy/highway civil construction experience for a direct hire opportunity with our client, a leading national civil construction company.

This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental, and 401k!

Salary is between $90,000 and $130,000 per year (based on experience).

In this role, you will perform tasks requiring broad and/or deep knowledge in the field of heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering, including structural analysis, design, and preparation of construction drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis and design, including reinforced and pre-stressed concrete design, steel design, timber design, deep foundations, gravity-based foundations, earth retaining structures, crane pick plan/rigging, and bridge deck.
  • Perform tasks on projects requiring a broad and / or deep knowledge in the field of heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering.
  • Implement design and ensure conformance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Prepare and review calculations for analysis and prepare engineering reports, memoranda, and design submittals.
  • Prepare working/draft construction drawings for AutoCAD drafter.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar from an accredited institution.
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience, with bridge experience required.
  • Master’s degree focused on structural engineering is preferred.
  • PE license (NY or NJ) required, NY preferred.
  • Proficient in using structural finite element analysis software tools such as MIDAS or RISA.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Excel and Mathcad.
  • Proficient working knowledge, understanding, and application of critical industry-accepted codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Specification and Construction Manual, NDS, AREMA, AASHTO, and AWS).
  • Maintain membership in industry organizations (AISC, AWI, RCSC) and continued professional development for PE License.
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
  • Experience working on projects in the NYC/Metropolitan area preferred.
