In your Senior Scientist Materials role, you'll help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world. <b>It starts with YOU. </b></span></p> <p></p> <p> <b>Summary of Position:</b></p> <div> <p> <span>The primary purpose of this position is to identify, develop and qualify materials for use in Kimberly Clark Personal Care products. This role will work in conjunction with the Personal Care (PC) R&E Product and Process Teams, Project Teams, Kimberly Clark Global Nonwovens Teams, other PC cross-functional organizations. This role will also work closely with external material suppliers to manage relationship to drive innovation. This role will have Develop and Commercialization (D&C) accountabilities. The candidate reports to an R&E Manager and works closely with Technical Leaders. The candidate should be able to develop their own working plans and will also provide work direction to other material developers. Primary focus of the role will be on Huggies Diapers. </span></p> <p> <span> </span></p> <p> <span>The role requires knowledge of materials and the performance relationship between primarily nonwoven materials, absorbent garment performance, and fastening that attaches both parts together. Responsibilities include to identify customer needs for material solutions in both short and long term, work with GNW and external suppliers to identify and develop material solutions to meet those needs, prove technical feasibility, and move them towards commercialization. In addition, the role involves ownership for strategic material development plans, developing the work for a small cross-discipline team, and leadership for one or more technology programs.</span></p> <p></p></div> <p> <b> <span>Responsibilities:</span></b></p> <ul> <li> <span>Collaborate with Product teams to understand business innovation plans. Utilize the business innovation plans to shape material strategies and then lead development within material space.</span></li> <li> <span>Collaborate with Personal Care IMF project teams and ensure development/commercialization work for general material innovation is effectively progressed.</span></li> <li> <span>Collaborate with PC R&E, Materials Value Stream, GNW, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Global R&E teams in order to understand opportunity areas to improve efficiency and effectiveness in delivering innovation.</span></li> <li> <span>Collaborate with key material suppliers to develop relationship and technology to accelerate the meaningful innovation to our consumers.</span></li> <li> <span>Mentor junior scientists.</span></li> <li> <span>Protect and defend Kimberly Clark proprietary product and technology through the appropriate use of patents and trade secrets.</span></li> <li> <span>Ensure all work complies with corporate safety, regulatory, product safety and sustainability requirements.</span></li></ul> <p></p> <p> <b> <span>Key Customers</span></b> <span>:</span></p> <p> <span>NA PC R&E Product Teams, PC Marketing/Marketing Research and Global R&E</span></p> <p></p> <p> <b>About Us</b></p> <p>Huggies®.
