Senior Project Accountant

JOB SUMMARY

Salary range: $85,000 - $100,000 annually

Work location: Hybrid; Vancouver, WA.

Holland is seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant that displays strong leadership skills and thrives in a collaborative team and stakeholder focused environment. The Senior Project Accountant is responsible for managing the preparation and review of the monthly draw packages and capital draws and ensuring complete reviews of agreements and budgets in accordance with Holland Partner Group’s Core Values.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Train and mentor team members on accounting matters necessary to ensure they are successfully performing their assigned role
Serve as main point of contact for design-build project related communications with project ownership and internal executive leadership.
Understand and apply knowledge related to various Partnership Agreements, Construction Contracts and Loan Agreements.
Lead and work with various internal and external parties for new project closings, which includes accounting review of various agreements and associated budgets.
Review and manage General Contractor and development draw package submissions and risk mitigation documents for accuracy and validity and related funding.
Review and manage partnership financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, capital calls and distributions for accuracy and validity.
Manage risk related to lien issues and various insurance claims.
Lead communications with project personnel and external vendors for project related questions and requests.
Prepare and respond to year-end tax and audit reports.
Manage all compliance and billing related questions with project personnel and external vendors and contracted entities.
Represent Holland Partner Group in a professional manner at all times
Conform to company apparel standards and set a positive example for all Associates.
Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort in any way possible.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting strongly preferred.

Experience: Four years minimum experience in accounting required. Previous experience in real estate development and/or construction project accounting experience strong preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting may be considered in lieu of specified work experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Thorough understanding of basic accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, debits, credits, etc.),
Ability to accurately perform multiple tasks in a complex and fast-paced operating environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Yardi and/or Textura software preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to accurately perform basic to intermediate mathematical functions.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees while inspiring respect and credibility.
Ability to effectively work under pressure, reassess daily competing priorities and proactively meet cyclical deadlines.
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
Must have excellent organizational skills.

Attendance: This is a full-time exempt position which requires you to be present and available during business hours to meet the needs of your team and the Company. This exempt position is not eligible for overtime, however on occasion, a flexible schedule may be required.

This position also requires:

Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
