<b>Career Opportunity:</b> <br> <br>The Product Line Manager plays a critical role in the business development at Silgan Dispensing and will partner with colleagues from across multiple regions and functions to grow the business. The individual will have specific responsible for the growth and profitability of their category. This role is the key bridge between Sales, Marketing and Operations to align commercial opportunities with manufacturing and financial results.<br> <br>A successful individual will engage regularly with internal and external partners to drive growth of existing product lines, assist in the identification and development of new products, deliver timely and smart pricing that wins business while protecting margin, and drives new pipeline opportunities. <br> <br> <b>Key Responsibilities</b> <br> <ul> <li>Proactively finds and supports opportunities that drive product line growth</li> <li>Identify key customer / brand targets that fit our product capabilities</li> <li>Work with Sales Management to drive and support pipeline development</li> <li>Engage with customers in support of Sales engagements to drive innovation and new customer projects</li> <li>Create value propositions and differentiated service and selling programs</li> <li>Oversee product line profitability, including<ul> <li>Working with Finance and Operations to determine product / project costing</li> <li>Providing optimized pricing / quotes / selling conditions</li> <li>Partnering with Operations to identify cost reduction / efficiency opportunities</li> <li>Coordinate with Sales to ensure the correct positioning of our products</li></ul></li> <li>Provide project management on internal & customer projects that enhance the quality, performance, and / or growth of our product lines</li> <li>Leverage expert product knowledge to support Sales</li> <li>Support management of product centered projects as an interface between various internal departments, resulting in recommendations for investment </li> <li>Identify and manage internal projects that improve capacity, capabilities, and margin</li> <li>Coordinate material changes between Sales and Operations</li> <li>Ensure appropriate internal communication of product changes</li> <li>Be the foremost experts of their category<ul> <li>Conduct internal and external training on products' technical / service value proposition</li> <li>Provide competitive analysis to understand market pricing, strengths / weaknesses vs. competition, and positioning</li> <li>Recommend product capability enhancements to maintain viability and competitiveness</li> <li>Monitor market share and Euromonitor data</li> <li>Involvement in consumer research studies and monitoring of market trends</li></ul></li> <li>Manage processes that enable organizational support of the product line<ul> <li>Provide estimates / forecasts on product performance for the budgeting process</li> <li>Support the S&OP and medium to long term capacity planning process</li> <li>Provide input on investments required for budgeting purposes</li></ul></li> <li>Collaborate with Marketing Communications<ul> <li>Create and maintain updated product support material (collateral, sales tools, samples, price books, presentations)</li> <li>Execution of trade show activities</li> <li>Maintain SAM library contents</li> <li>Intranet and internet support for the category</li></ul></li></ul> <br> <b>Requirements</b> <br> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher from four-year college or university</li> <li>Four (4) plus years related experience in the Fragrance, Beauty, Personal Care and / or Packaging Industry. </li> <li>Travel up to 25%: Focus will be to multiple customers / plants / trade shows.
