Status: Full-time (salaried)

Working Hours: 8 hours (8am – 5pm)

Purpose of Position:

Provide comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering support for steam generation projects. The applications engineer is a subject matter expert. Success requires a combination of a strong technical background, knowledge of industrial steam systems, and personal skills to coordinate work and reach resolutions. Example tasks are develop and communicate winning boiler room solutions; support various engineering questions at all project stages; analyze load study data and present actionable reports; select and apply various systems and components such as feedwater tanks and flowmeters; calculate and explain emissions information; develop boiler room P coordinate resolution of complex field issues; develop custom control solutions; interface with suppliers; attend tradeshows, training events, and site visits; etc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, project management, and a proven track record of successful project delivery.

Essential Tasks:

  • Application Engineering: Collaborate closely with the sales team to address customer inquiries and provide technical expertise throughout the sales process. Provide engineering services for projects to develop complete boiler room solutions including boilers, stacks, steam headers, feed water systems, pumps, steam accumulators, PRV stations, metering, and related.
  • Engineering Support: Respond to various engineering support requests timely and efficiently utilizing a case management system.
  • Manage Products and Services Offered: Coordinate with internal product development teams, suppliers, and sales to ensure we are offering and effectively communicating the best solutions. Build relationships with suppliers, manage pricing negotiations, and deliver new products for sales.
  • Project Documentation: Prepare, maintain, and/or review project documentation including layout drawings, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, quotations, specifications, and submittals.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise closely with the sales team, clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective communication, alignment of project objectives, and seamless support for the entire scope of responsibility. Support training events for customers, representatives, and Miura personnel
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, and cost optimization for the complete package. Implement relevant strategies and initiatives to enhance the integration of engineering support with the sales process.

Position Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position):

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in the industrial steam industry
  • Experience with project engineering and project management
  • Strong CAD and related software skills
  • Experience with related codes and standards including ASME BPVC, UL, NEC, NBIC
  • Self-starter with great communication skills (written and verbal)
