****The Role****

SQL Server Database Administrators at Lumen are responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of critical SQL Server RDBMS databases. We are looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA to join our team! As a SQL Server DBA you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems.

****The Main Responsibilities****

* Manage SQL Server databases both on-prem and in the Azure cloud.

* Configure and maintain database servers and processes.

* Monitor/Alert database server health and performance using PowerShell scripts.

* Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security.

* Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time.

* Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.

* Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.

* Assist in setting up and troubleshooting SSIS jobs.

* Assist in setting up and troubleshooting SSRS reports.

* Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.

* Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.

* Off-Hours production support (On-Call Rotation) is required for this position

****What We Look For in a Candidate****

* 7+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role.

* Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization.

* Experience Azure SQL Database setup and monitoring.

* Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models

* Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server

* Strong troubleshooting skills

* Experience with Always On

* Participate in the Team Setting

* Great interpersonal and communication skills

* Great Time-Management skills
