PURPOSE STATEMENT

This position is responsible for the organization’s day-to-day accounting functions, assisting with various ongoing and ad-hoc finance projects, and other financial activities within the department. While the core of this role is accounting, responsibilities may include broader financial support functions as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Day-to-day department functions, such as revenue reports, cash reconciliation, and A/P.
Perform the month end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
Manage issuance of 1099s to vendors and contractors at the end of year.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. ? Drive automation of accounting processes, wherever possible.
Assist with external auditors and provide information to support their audit procedures.
Other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Accounting.

Requirements:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience (hospital setting is a plus).
Thorough understanding of basic accounting standards (GAAP).
Experience with general ledger functions and monthly/annual close processes.
Experience with accounting software (Multiview experience is a plus).
Self-starter capable of independently driving projects forward.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have Microsoft Office Suite experience, including strong Excel Skills.
Highly organized, detail minded, and able to understand and analyze complex transactions.
Ability to work within a team environment and possess skills to support process change.
Continuously works under pressure of nearly 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.
Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.
Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing.
Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to life and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces.
To accommodate travel, must be able to transport own suitcases and portable computer estimated at 25 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $41.00 per hour
