Job Description

The senior accountant plays a crucial role in ensuring and safeguarding the integrity of our financial data. As senior, you will be responsible for the timely completions and review of your key responsibility areas, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and driving process improvements. Additionally, the senior accountant will assist in general ledger and performance analysis. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and organized with a desire to collaborate and learn in a rapidly changing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform full cycle accounting functions - reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, period end closing, month-end reporting, etc. in a timely and accurate manner.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including ability to identify and rectify reconciling items.
Ensures compliance with internal controls, company procedures and GAAP.
Recommend and help implement ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
Develop reports through ERP system to understand (analyze) costs
Perform detailed variance analysis between actual and expected results and provide insight into deviations.
Analyze period over period performance to help ensure consistency and accuracy.
Research material cost to help ensure accurate job cost reporting.
Assist with internal and external audit, tax packages and filings, budget processes.
Perform transactional and financial research and analyze internal and external issues related to assigned areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
Public accounting experience preferred
Minimum 3+ years of public company experience
Manufacturing experience a plus
Proficient in excel and ERP systems, Epicor/Kinetic preferred.
Power BI experience preferred
Experience with ASC 842 and ASC 606
