JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for accounting and reconciling loan activity within our loan management system and bank accounts. Assists with coordinating and administering operational accounting functions while recommending process automation and improvement. Operates appropriate controls and maintains detailed process documentation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and analyzing account information.
Responsible for the daily/weekly/monthly reconciliation of assigned bank accounts and general ledger accounts, providing detailed analysis and explanations of transactions.
Prepare monthly portfolio roll forward analysis for assigned portfolios with reconciliations to bank activity.
Prepare detailed journal entries and account analysis.
Automate recurring accounting, reporting and reconciliation processes and take a key role in accounting systems automation and enhancements.
Maintain monthly close timetable to assist in meeting internal and external reporting deadlines.
Answer accounting questions and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Prepare documentation for external auditors, as needed.
Participate in the ongoing enhancement of detailed accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Collaborate with IT and Operation teams to build and maintain automated payment posting procedures.
Support Treasury and Financial Planning teams to assist in cash and business forecasting.
Assist as needed on special projects, including system conversions, updates, acquisitions, capital market transactions.
Supports team members in various related activities and projects as required and requested.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

Availability to work weekends, if needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or other related field of study preferred.
CPA certification preferred.
3+ years of experience in the accounting sector required; Financial Services sector experience preferred.
Working knowledge of accounting and control principles & procedures required.
Experience in reconciling large volume bank activity to subsidiary ledger.
Experience working with database queries; SQL is preferred.
Competence in MS Office (Word, Outlook)
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
Knowledge of Blackline is a plus.

This role is in-office. Remote work may be performed from a pre-approved location, as arranged, and scheduled by team management and approved by department leadership.
