Position Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for accurate and timely recording and accounting for TCI Companies. The Senior Accountant will lead month end close process and preparation of business operational and financial reports for the Trucking Companies.

Primary Roles and Duties:

Processes, and maintains accounting records and related documents involving transactions of the business, including system-generated and monthly manual journal entries in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Performs Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly
Design and implement monthly intercompany reconciliation process
Preparation of work papers and support for external auditors and Tax Firms
Assist with preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements. Provide assigned schedules and commentary for monthly Management Reports.
Fixed asset accounting; account reconciliations; roll forwards; monthly depreciation entries; maintenance of FA ERP (Sage)
Assist with the generation of all general ledger transactions for Trucking companies in the McLeod software system
Preparation of sales commissions monthly/quarterly and other metrics needed for incentive-based compensation programs.
Facilitate various business process improvement or data analytics projects as assigned to improve the overall profitability and quality of decision making for all businesses.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Four-year Degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of experience in accounting
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (vLookups, Pivot Tables, SUMIFs)
Proven Data Analytics and problem-solving skillset
Demonstrated ability to prepare & maintain account reconciliations and be able to independently identify and resolve reconciling items and insure accounting classification of items included in accounts are in accordance with GAAP.
Ability to track and manage multiple projects simultaneously and comply with critical deadlines.
A high level of business ethics and confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Enthusiastic team player, who seeks responsibility, is highly analytical and inquisitive, with a Strong communication skill, both written and verbal.

Compensation:

$85-$100k
