Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting

The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting is an integral part of the finance team and will be primarily focused on SEC reporting, technical accounting, and internal controls. This position is located in Pulaski, TN resulting in the need to travel to the location 3 days a week.

Candidates must have a strong knowledge of US GAAP and a solid foundation in external reporting, internal controls, and compliance. The individual must have the ability and a demonstrated track record in researching, documenting, and presenting the impact of technical accounting pronouncements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including preparation of the consolidated financial statements, footnotes, and other required information, in accordance with US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
Preparation of bank compliance reporting.
Prepare intercompany and related party eliminations.
Ensure proper accounting for non-controlling interest.
Preparation of quarterly tax payments and noncontrolling distributions.
Ensure proper Lease Accounting (ASC 842)
Perform month-end closing procedures (record JE’s, reconcile accounts, etc.)
Research relevant accounting guidance issued, determining, and documenting the appropriate technical accounting and reporting treatment.
Assist with SOX audits performed by internal and external auditors.
Ensure internal controls are implemented and being performed as established.
Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy, applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
Maintains financial security by establishing and adhering to internal controls.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Assist with third party registered agent to monitor business registration and filings.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related projects as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (Master degree preferred)
CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
5+ years accounting experience
Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
Proven knowledge of US GAAP, SOX and SEC reporting requirements
Oracle EBS knowledge a plus.
Strong project management skills with the ability to anticipate events, prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.
Pharmaceutical industry knowledge preferred but not required.
