Secondary Principal<br>Qualifications:<br>New York State Certification as a School Building Leader (S.B.L.)or School Administration and Supervision (S.A.S)<br>Ten years of experience as a teacher and/oradministrator preferred<br><br>Reports To:<br>Superintendent of Schools<br><br>Supervises:<br>All Bolivar-Richburg Middle/High School staff and others as assigned<br><br>Job Description:<br>The Principal will provide continuous and consistent administrative leadership to all students throughout the middle highschool building. Our Secondary Principal will foster a spirit of cohesiveness and belonging and will develop long-termrelationships with students and parents for the purpose of providing a more personalized educational experience for eachstudent. The Principal will support the school and districts instructional programs by working with all staff to assist studentsin their personal, social, and intellectual development. This work will be consistent with the mission, vision, values, andstrategic objectives set forth by the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education.<br><br>Performance Responsibilities:<br>Instructional Leadership<br> Works with department leaders to design programmatic and instructional initiatives<br> Provides instructional leadership and guidance for faculty<br> Directly supervises other staff, including but not limited to school counselors, social workers, psychologists<br>and secretaries assigned to the middle/high school building<br> Participates in the process of recruiting, screening, interviewing and recommending new staff members forthe Middle/High School<br> Assumes overall responsibility for students in grades 6-12<br> Establishes individual and group performance goals<br> Works directly with other administrators to assure the physical and social-emotional safety and well-being ofstudents and staff within the school building.<br> Meets individually or as part of a team on a regular basis with those students who are strugglingacademically and/or behaviorally<br> Maintains an active and visible presence during the school day and beyond by attending a wide variety ofschool events that take place in the evening as well<br> Assumes responsibility for upholding and enforcing the District Code of Conduct and provides disciplinaryconsequences as appropriate<br> Continues their own professional growth through memberships, attendance at relevant meetings, workshops, and conferences<br> Participates in building and district committees<br> Carries out all district policies, regulations and directives<br> Accepts responsibility, as assigned by the Superintendent, for overall school management and specialprojects (i.e., testing schedule, graduation, etc.) that may go beyond the scope of specific daily responsibilities<br><br>Bolivar-Richburg Central School District is a geographically large district with approximately 800 students inattendance. We have one elementary school located in Richburg, NY and one middle/high school located in Bolivar,NY in Allegany County.
