Pharmacy Technician - Cleveland, OH - 13 Week Contract
Sigma Healthcare Team is currently looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to work onsite for our contracted facility.
EMR Used: EPIC
Shift : 8:00-4:30pm rotating weekends/holidays
Summary:
  • Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, performs a wide variety of duties in the delivery of pharmaceutical care in specialty pharmacies (i.e. the Pediatric Pharmacy, Critical Care Pharmacy, and Oncology Pharmacy) and inpatient pharmacy. Along with other staff, delivers medication-related services to in-house patients, and related take-home medication services. Assists Pharmacists in performing quality control procedures for drug distribution technologies. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System
Responsibilities:
  • Supply medicines to patients, over the counter or on prescription
  • Assemble medicines for prescriptions
  • Manage areas of medicines supply like the dispensaries
  • Supervise other pharmacy staff when necessary
  • Produce medicines in the pharmaceutical industry and in hospitals
  • File Prescriptions
  • Mix chemotherapy, fluids and feeding solutions for intravenous use under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
  • Deliver medications to the nursing units in the hospital premises
  • Responsible for inventory control in the hospital pharmacy
  • Rotate stock, remove expired medications and perform other inventory control duties
  • May be assigned to work in a particular nursing unit
  • Involved in labeling and assembling dispensed items
  • Check expiry dates of drugs, advise nurses on the correct mode of medicine storage and discuss the needs of the wards with the staffs and nurses
  • Purchase medicines from wholesalers and pharmaceutical companies
  • Ensure supplies are delivered accordingly
  • Help patients in understanding how to use their medicines safely when they return home and in the wards.
Required Certifications/Licensure:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Current P.T.C.B.Certification required
  • Current/Valid State license
  • Typing skills required
