Job Summary


Performs duties under the guidance of the Director of Ambulatory Health Services and supervised by the School Nurse Program Coordinator. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing services to students in the public school system. Requires independent action, creativity, initiate, critical thinking, collaboration, interpersonal, communication/public relation skills with a high degree of visibility, confidentiality, and flexibility in the community setting. Works within a collaborative partnership with healthcare providers, Central Georgia Healthcare System, and school administration. The Registered Nurse works with and supervises the care provided in the school clinics by the Schoolhouse Health License Practical Nurses. Requires travel between work sites.



Education, Training, and Experience


Must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate. Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university required with focus in Child-health, pediatrics, school health or similar specialty area. Minimum of one year of pediatric nursing experience. Experience working with economically disadvantaged population preferred.
