POSITION:     School Based Clinician  

DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO:   School Based Services Coordinator

SUMMARY OF POSITION:  Provide consultation to assigned school and program clients in the application of Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) methods based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop Individualized service plans (ISP’s) for 10 program clients and their families who are identified in collaboration with the School’s Educational Support Team (EST)
  • Deliver services as outlined in the ISP
  • Monitor, evaluate, and revise client/ family ISP’s
  • Work within assigned school to implement all tiers of PBIS
  • Serve as a member of the school’s EST
  • Provide supports to students referred to the EST but not formally referred for an ISP
  • Observe and support school rules for all students within the time constraints of the other duties described herein
  • Provide coaching to school personnel regarding incidents involving implementation of PBS implementation and the application of school rules as appropriate
  • Model and support the School’s efforts to improve school climate and implement PBS principles and procedures
  • Attend and conduct training and meetings as negotiated with school leadership
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the SBBIS Program Director
  • Conduct and direct behavioral assessments for referred children and youth
  • Develop individualized behavior plans
  • Monitor, evaluate and revise behavior plans
  • The PBS Clinician will, under the direct supervision of a BCBA or Senior Behavior Analyst, manage or co-manage the behavior planning component of all assigned cases
  • Train and supervise staff in the implementation and evaluation of behavior plans
  • Provide ongoing consultation with WCMHS case managers and school-based case managers
  • Provide ongoing consultation to families as directed
  • Participate on educational/clinical teams in school, community, and mental health settings
  • Provide for staff training as part of the training team
  • Perform case manager duties (as described in the SBBIS Case Manager Job Description) as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education / Experience : 

  • Experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and experience working with children and youth who present serious emotional and behavioral challenges and/or autism is required.
  • Possession of a Master’s degree or enrollment and participation in a Master’s degree program is required.
  • Experience working in school settings and 1 year experience as a Behavioral Interventionist desirable.

OR

  • Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst in good standing.

Possession of a valid driver’s license, excellent driving record and access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle are required.   

Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and execute physical restraints.
