**Position Description:**
This role analyzes Dealer Finance indirect credit applications to determine credit decisions in a fast paced environment. Role is responsible for achieving set goals for loans booked, pricing, and delinquency and losses. This teammate coaches and supervises other Dealer Finance underwriters.
**Position Accountabilities:**
* Analyzes indirect loan applications for credit worthiness using consumer credit bureau reports and internal performance data
* Evaluates consumer loan requests for adherence to Atlantic Unions indirect lending policies related to debt-to-income, credit characteristics, and loan-to-value
* Ensures all decisions on applications are within Atlantic Unions compliance and fair lending framework
* Works to achieve teams goals for new loan volume, pricing, delinquencies and losses
* Coach and supervise other Dealer underwriters
* Maintains procedures and trains teammates on changes and updates to procedures
* Sets Dealer underwriter production goals and measures success towards those goals.
* Promotes Atlantic Union Bank and the indirect program to dealerships as opportunities arise while analyzing and making decisions on credit applications
**Organizational Relationship:**
This position reports to Dealer Finance Manager
**Position Qualifications:**
Education and Training
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
* Four years or more in consumer loan underwriting, preferably with prior experience in managing underwriters
Knowledge & Skills
* Strong analytic skills
* Experience working in fast-paced, production environment
* In-depth knowledge of Federal lending regulations, Fair Lending, and E.C.O.A.
* In-depth knowledge of all indirect programs offered to dealers along with reserve options
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Able to handle multiple tasks with attention to details
* Experience in interpreting and analyzing credit reports
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
* High degree of professionalism
