Barbier Security Group (BSG) is looking for individuals who enjoy providing the essential role of a Security Officer in a hospital setting. This site is located in Marin County. Our Hospital Security Officers are often the first in line to represent both the hospital as well as BSG. This position is responsible for supporting Security Leadership and helps to ensure that the Security team is proactive in following directives. Hospital Security Officers will assist with the functions of physical and personal security and safety measures for members, patients, staff, and visitors. The responsibilities of the Hospital Security Officer vary and provide a diverse set of duties in a Healthcare environment.
  • Shifts available: Swing (Friday - Tuesday), Grave (Friday - Tuesday)
  • Salary: $25.00 per hour
  • 72 hours Paid Time Off (For Full-Time employees)

Qualifications :
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Excellent interpersonal and written skills; bilingual is a plus
  • Professional appearance; well groomed with no visible tattoos or piercings
  • Two years previous Security, Hospital or Healthcare Security experience preferred
Requirements :
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Prefer experience in dealing with the public in a service setting; prior healthcare security; recent military or law enforcement experience desired
  • Ability to provide specific site required immunization records or test to determine immunization needs
  • Current BSIS Guard Card
  • Current/Valid Drivers license
  • Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
  • Ability to interact in a socially acceptable and polite manner to include a high level of cooperation, Communication Skills, Teamwork, and promoting a culture of respect, Safety and Health
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to stand and walk for majority of shift on various surfaces (concrete, carpet, etc.)
  • Ability to move 50lbs
Duties May Include :
  • Prepares and maintains Daily Activity Reports and files as required
  • Patient Privacy: The employee in this position has access to protected health information- confidentiality is expected
  • Complete and maintain site specific training and workshops as directed
  • Receive and complete assignments from the Shift Lead, Shift Supervisor or Site Supervisor and keeps those Supervisors appraised of current status and duties
  • Controls parking and traffic flow, enforces parking regulations. Conducts Valet parking services as directed
  • Staff the dispatch position
  • Responds to inquiries for advice and assistance from hospital staff, students, and visitors
  • May be required to restrain persons as needed to ensure safety
  • Provides for the Safety and Security of all persons and for property of the facility
  • Patrols Hospital buildings and grounds as a visible deterrence to prevent acts of violence, theft and vandalism. Identify prohibited activities, or suspicious activities in public and non-public areas throughout property
  • Escort persons to parking lots and hospital departments
  • Maintains positive working relationships and public relation skills when interacting with Emergency Dept. staff, including Clinical staff & members & facility staff
  • Maintains and displays good public relations skills when interacting effectively with patients, visitors, and staff at various social levels and across diverse cultures
  • Responds to incidents such as: emergency codes, fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous material event, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for post, by the company, or through training or certification
  • Maintain grooming and uniform standards at all times
  • Ability to maintain control in difficult situations: Assist with demanding, distraught or unreasonable patients and visitors
  • Process oriented with high attention to detail, and triage a problem quickly providing precise/clear information while working under minimum supervision
Additional Training/Certification Requirements ( Preferred ) :
  • Current Management of Assaultive Behavior Training
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Current Handcuff certification
  • ICS 100, 200 & 700 certification
  • First Responder Awareness
