Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive / Critical Care Unit (ICU/CCU) Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 Hours per Week Experience: Minimum one year of experience preferred. Nursing skills and knowledge specific to the specialty are required. License: State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) is required. Certifications: - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification - Required- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Required for certain positions Must-Have: - Skills in critical care and patient care- Proficiency in EPIC or similar healthcare software Job Description: - Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and review of medical records and clinical Evaluate patients' responses and intervene to ensure optimal patient outcomes.- Develop and implement patient care plans; observe and analyze outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.- Demonstrate competency in various therapeutic/diagnostic interventions, including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.- Advocate for and protect the health, safety, and rights of each Provide patient and family education; assess learning readiness, needs, and ability; evaluate teaching effectiveness.- Recognize patients or their designees as full partners in the care process, respecting their preferences, values, and needs.- Deliver care with respect for cultural differences and diversity.- Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with state board and hospital policy.- Utilize time, personnel, equipment, and supplies efficiently for high-quality, cost-effective patient care.- Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes.- Manage resources and patient flow by matching competencies with individualized needs.- Guide practice using standards of care, hospital policies/procedures, and regulatory guidelines.- Collaborate within nursing and inter-professional teams to foster open communication, respect, and shared decision-making.- Mentor new staff or nursing students as needed.- Pursue learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain skills and competence.- Maintain professional records that indicate competency and lifelong learning.- Evaluate personal integrity and practice according to professional standards and guidelines.- Commit to the organization through participation in meetings and performance Engage in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities.- Apply healthcare research findings and evidence to expand clinical knowledge and enhance role performance.
