Job Summary: Provides and or directs the delivery of nursing care to patient populations across the lifespan. Surveys staffing schedules to ensure that adequate and competent staff are available to provide nursing care. Promotes and assists with implementation of the nursing process. Facilitates communication among members of the interdisciplinary team. Possesses knowledge of the healthcare organization guidelines and protocols and acts as a resource. Assists staff, patients, customers and physicians in arbitration process to address any matters of concern. Acts as the administrative representative in the absence of the Serves as an active participant on the Code Blue and Rapid Response Teams. Qualifications/Reporting: Required minimum education: Graduate of a Professional Nursing School. Bachelor#s degree in nursing or equivalent preferred. Required minimum experience: Three years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting. Current CPR certification. Required skills (if applicable): Supervisory ability and effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to think critically and exercise appropriate judgment. Required license/certification: Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas, and the following certifications: Required: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (PALS must be obtained within 6 months of hire). Strongly Recommended: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Emer. Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) (in lieu of PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).
