Summary of Position
The Packaging Operatoris responsible for the operation of equipment used in the packaging of productsat Tempered and Specialty Metals (TSM).
Responsibilities and Duties
As a minimum, thefollowing is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilitiesexpected of the Packaging Operator. These duties are not exhaustive and aresubject to change as the needs of the organization require.
• Drivea forklift and operate an overhead crane to pull and move coils and skidswithin the warehouse, safely.
• Bandand package material for shipping according to customer requirements.
• Assembleskids and other shipping containers as needed.
• Confirmmaterial specifications on inventory tags for orders being shipped.
• Stagematerial for shipping according to bill of ladings.
• Generateinventory tags to be placed on material being received.
• Enterinventory tag data into the computer system.
• Obtainappropriate signatures on bills of lading.
• Operatepackaging line machine.
• Useshrink wrapping machine.
• Usesprecision and safety when operating tools such as saws, banding equipment, nailand staple guns, among others.
• Maintainshipping supplies and alert Packaging lead of low inventories.
• Keepimmediate work area clean and organized throughout the day.
• Adhereto all TSM safety rules, regulations and quality standards.
• Adhere toall TSM handbook policies and procedures.
